Catherine (Cate) McEwen

Cate McEwen works as a consultant in environmental education for sustainability. She has worked locally, nationally and internationally, whether with students, facilitating teacher training workshops, or working with community. She has a background in biological field science (B.Sc. Ecology, Guelph), and resource management in sustainability, and environmental education (M.A., Royal Roads). Cate was a founding parent of Fulford School Nature Club and served as an educator for the SS Conservancy school program. She once claimed her fame as a cover girl for a nude calendar used to fundraise against destructive logging practices on Salt Spring Island. She is a mother of two children, both of whom grew up in the environs of Salt Spring Island.
